In the heart of Vienna.

The Hotel Bristol next to the Vienna State Opera has been an inspiring hub of Vienna's rich cultural and business life for more than a hundred years. Opened in 1892, the elegant hotel was named after the English town of Bristol. While accommodating one of the oldest American Bars in town, it is yet a living example for Viennese charm and a very personal attention to memorable service. Precious fin-de-siècle antiques blend harmoniously with state-of-the-art technology turning the Bristol into an urban oasis amidst the city's hustle and bustle.

Combining historical ambience with genuine Austrian hospitality, the enchanting hotel plays host to kings, heads of state, aristocrats and celebrities. The Nobel Prize Winners Theodore Roosevelt and Bertha von Suttner met here once. The Russian pianist Vladimir Horowitz, who should later marry the daughter of another regular, Arturo Toscanini, arrived at the Bristol. The two gentlemen and Richard Strauss signed the guestbook on the same day. Enrico Caruso and Sergey Rachmaninoff resided vis-à-vis the Opera - and so did legends such as Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, Giacomo Puccini and George Gershwin. Contemporary musicians like Shakira and Barbra Streisand, Leonard Cohen and Eros Ramazotti can also be found on the Bristol's exceptional guest list.

Between 2007 and 2009 some 5 million Euros were invested in the complete refurbishing of all 140 rooms and suites as well as public spaces. The elegant interior and carefully restored antiques harmoniously blend with discreet modern comfort. During the extensive and phased renovation, the splendid ornate interiors were enhanced with refined contemporary amenities. Exclusive interior inspired by the hotel's turn of the century décor show bright marble entrees and ornate fabrics, their shades oscillating between cool blue and golden or elegant natural-colour and red, harmonizing with the warm tones of wood and antique elements. Special attention was paid to technical comfort such as wireless and high-speed internet access and individually adjustable air conditioning for each room as well as impressive flat-screen TVs and elaborate CD/DVD surround systems. The charming fin-de-siècle gem has arrived in the 21st century.
